Emma Willard School is proud to announce that the work of six students has been chosen for display at the 23rd annual Art in Three Dimensions juried high school exhibition. Over 220 works were submitted, 79 were selected for display in this year's show; seven pieces from Emma’s six artists were among those chosen.
Emma Willard School is proud to announce that the work of six students has been chosen for display at the 23rd annual Art in Three Dimensions juried high school exhibition. Over 220 works were submitted for selection for this year's show. After many hours of viewing the work and discussion, jurors Laura Cannamela (local artist and teacher) and William Fillmore (Assistant Professor of 3D Art and Extended Media at Russell Sage College) selected 79 pieces from 19 schools. Seven pieces from Emma’s six artists were chosen for display.

“I am so excited by the depth and variety of work ranging from found objects, cardboard to ceramics,” Arts Instructor Caroline Valites shares. “It's amazing to see the progress they have made and their desire to continue their work even through the disruptions of COVID. I am impressed by how many students were selected to display their work in the first in-person juried exhibition in two years.”
The Art in Three Dimensions exhibition is one of four presented annually by the Capital Region Art Supervisors, an organization which promotes creative and critical thinking for life-long learning through visual arts education in partnership with the New York State Art Teachers Association. The works to be submitted from Emma were chosen by our art instructors to represent the best work in classes which make three dimensional objects.
The opening reception for the exhibit will take place on Wednesday, February 9, at the W.B. Haessig Art Gallery at Mohonasen High School in Rotterdam, NY and the display will be open through February 28.
